Abstract

    Hoang Quoc Hai combined the ingenuity between historical truth with creative fiction inGreat upheaval of Tran dynasties's historical novel to built personality character structurethrough artistic measures such as the description of physical appearance, to engraveportraiture portraits, actions, and speech of the historic character Tran Hung Dao to make thischaracter appear quite natural, authentic, and lively on paper pages. Especially the writer hasgot talent in psychological analyses of the character, which is very delicate and sharp by thehistoric character Tran Hung Dao and his military strategy in three wars with Mongolian -Yuan army, in order to create great persuasion for readers. Thus, readers will draw on manyvaluable military lessons to maintain national security and defense, national sovereignty,advancing the fighting strength to apply them to the cause of construction and defense ofVietnamese country.
