Abstract

Land disputes are one of the main causes of many social unrest. This article aims to examine the relationship between foreign direct investment (FDI), fiscal decentralization and land conflicts in 19 southern provinces of Vietnam during the period 2012 – 2017, on panel data and GLS model. Research results show that FDI and fiscal decentralization is bare for land conflicts. While institutions do not have a clear effect, growth in per capita income tends to have a positive effect on land conflicts. From this basis, the author proposes some policy recommendations to promote the efficiency of FDI capital, fiscal decentralization, and sustainable local economic growth.
