Identifying the impacts of the efficiency of management of construction equipment and machinery in construction enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City

Abstract

Effective management and use of construction machinery and equipment will contribute to improving the production efficiency of construction companies, helping the construction process to ensure on schedule, safety, helping the construction companies on Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and the whole country improve their capacity, capable of undertaking large construction projects, opening up opportunities for construction cooperation with foreign contractors. Therefore, this study aims to determine the impacts on the efficiency of management and use of construction machines and equipment at construction companies in HCMC through the presentation of the results. Survey results and analysis with 139 questionnaires were collected. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) results show that there are 05 main groups of factors including: The implementation of occupational safety in the use of construction equipment; Management capacity and responsibilities of senior managers; Equipment management; Preservation, maintenance, repair and liquidation of equipment; Manage and operate the machine reasonably and have a log of machine use. Stakeholders can use the results of this study to improve the efficiency of management and use of construction equipment at the construction sites.
