Evaluation on apartment building wastewater treatment capability in Ho Chi Minh City by Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR)
Abstract
This study describes the treatment efficiency and diversity of microorganisms in Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) tank. The removal efficiency was: BOD5 (90 - 95%), COD (93 - 97%), TSS (83 - 95%), Ammonia (NH4+) (92 - 98%), Total Nitrogen (TN) (92 - 98%), Turbidity (85 - 95%), Color (62 - 75%). It was observed the presence of Microfauna at the following rate in the tank as follows: Vorticella 26%, Aspidisca 22%, Litonotus 6%, Trachelophyllum 8%, Epitylis 6%, Rotifer 16%, Tardigrades 4%, Flagellate 4%, Vaginocola 6%. Examines the influence of MLSS and each group of microorganisms on the efficiency of treatment of pollutants in one apartment building wastewater in the Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The MLSS index in research ranges from 5,000 to 7,000 mg/L. The nitrogen removal efficiency was achieved at 98% in this study. The SBR technology shows that
the domestic wastewater treatment capacity in Ho Chi Minh City is optimal.
