SAMUEL BECKETT’S PLAYS: DESTROYING ELEMENTS OF CONVENTIONAL PLAYS STRUCTURE

Abstract

The article shows the components of the theater structure that Samuel Beckett destroyed in comparing with the structure of conventional plays. He destroyed the dialogue, characters, and plot (conflict, drama). The number of characters from decrease to disappear on stage. The dialogue in the Samuel Beckett’s theater gradually disappeares. It is from jumbled, stammered, chaotic, meaningless to completely disappearing words. The plot is blurred and destructively dramatic. Samuel Beckett’s structural innovations in theater have brought novelty to the recipients who were familiar with the structure of conventional plays.
