EFFECTS OF PLANTING DENSITY AND FERTILIZER SCHEME ON LEAF YIELD OF CRINUM ASIATICUM L. IN THANH HOA PROVINCE
Abstract
Crinum asiaticum L. is widely distributed in the world, mainly in the tropical regions. The medicinal plants have been recently proved to have effects on reducing size of prostatic adenoma early without surgery. The aim this study is to develop optimum protocols for C. asiaticum L production. The effects of planting density and fertiliser strategy on the yield of C. asiaticum leaf were studied at Northern Central Research Centre for Medicinal Materials in Thanh Hoa province. The results showed that: The density and amount of fertilizers have a significant effect on the growth and yield of C. asiaticum L. The best planting distance was 50 × 50 (cm) (40.000 plants/ha) and the optimum mount of fertilizer was 20 metric tons composted manure + 1200 kg NPK (5:10:3) + 400 kg ure.
