STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF DENSITY AND NITROGEN FERTILIZER DOSAGE TO GROWTH AND YIELD OF RICE VARIETY HUONG THANH 8 AT DONG SON DISTRICT, THANH HOA PROVINCE
Abstract
An experiment to evaluate the effect of increased plant density and nitrogen fertilizer dose on growth and yield of rice variety Huong Thanh 8 in Dong Tien commune, Dong Son district, Thanh Hoa province. The experiment was arranged in a Split-plot design, 3 replications, the treatments include three treatments of densities (M1: 35 clusters/m2, M2: 45 clusters/m2, M3: 55 clusters/m2); and four treatments of nitrogen fertilizer dosage levels (N0: 0 kg N/ha, N1: 80 kg N/ha, N2: 100 kg N/ha, N3: 120 kg N/ha). The results of our study showed that the index growth and yield of rice variety Huong Thanh 8 tended to increase as the density decreased, and applied nitrogen from 0 kg to 100 kg N/ha as the same, however the index of growth and yield tended to decrease at 120 kg N/ha. The interaction of density and nitrogen dosage showed that rice variety Huong Thanh 8 reach to the highest real yield of treatment of M2N2 was 7,65 tons/ha,
and treatment of M2N3 obtain 6.84 tons/ha. In contrast, the treatment of M1N0 and M1N1 had the lowest real yield of 4,89 tons/ha and 5,07 tons/ha.
