Abstract

Thanh Hoa is one of the provinces with areas for growing raw materials for the paper industry and relatively fine-art handicrafts of the country. In addition to orientating the development of large timber forests, Thanh Hoa has also developed a policy to develop a number of other material plants such as bamboo species, including Bambusa longissima. The paper presents the results of the research on the propagation of Bambusa longissima sp.nov from cuttings. The results showed that synthentic auxin, medium clearly affect the rooting rate and rooting quality of the cutting. In particular, the cuttings were treated with Indol Butiric Axit(IBA)at 500 ppm and the medium of 50 % soil B floor + 50 % trice husks reached the highest rooting rate and rooting quality, rooting ratewas 73.1% and the rooting coefficient was 153.6 after 60 days of cuttings.
