THE IMPACT OF FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT (FDI) ON SOCIO - ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THANH HOA PROVINCE IN THE PERIOD FROM 2010 UP TO NOW

Abstract

Foreign direct investment (FDI) is playing a very important role in the socio-economic development of Thanh Hoa province. Over the past years, FDI has contributed to boosting the province's economy at a high speed; economic structure has been shifted strongly towards industrialization and modernization; creating more jobs, improving the quality of human resources of the province. At the same time, foreign direct investment is an extremely important channel in the transfer of science and technology, contributing to improving the competitiveness of the economy in the context of integration. The process of attracting FDI in Thanh Hoa is also creating negative impacts such as: sustainable economic development, ecological environment pollution, etc. Therefore, promoting positive impacts and limiting negative impacts. polarity of FDI is one of the most important tasks for the socio-economy of  Thanh Hoa today.
