Mission and Objectives

1. Mission

The Vietnam Journal of Agricultural Sciences is the official scientific journal of the Vietnam National University of Agriculture and serves the national and international scientific communities in the fields of agriculture, biotechnology, natural resources, environmental sciences, socio-economics, rural development, and related disciplines.

The Journal is dedicated to publishing, disseminating, and promoting scientific knowledge; advancing applied research, innovation, technology transfer, and international collaboration; and fulfilling its mission within the scope, objectives, target readership, and content authorized under its publishing license.

2. Objectives

The Vietnam Journal of Agricultural Sciences aims to:

a) Publish high-quality scientific research that demonstrates academic excellence, practical relevance, originality, and accuracy while adhering to the highest standards of research integrity and publication ethics.

b) Contribute to strengthening the University's capacity in scientific research, education, and technology transfer.

c) Promote scholarly exchange, research collaboration, and partnerships between the Vietnam National University of Agriculture and universities, research institutions, government agencies, enterprises, and scientific partners both in Vietnam and internationally.

d) Develop the Journal into a reputable national and international scientific publication, progressively meeting the selection criteria and quality standards required for inclusion in internationally recognized abstracting and indexing databases, including the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Scopus, Web of Science, and other prestigious indexing services.

3. Scope of Activities

The Journal receives, peer reviews, edits, and publishes original research articles, review articles, short communications, letters to the editor, and scholarly discussion papers that make significant scientific contributions in the following fields:

  • Agronomy;
  • Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, and Aquaculture;
  • Biotechnology;
  • Agricultural Economics and Management;
  • Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences;
  • Rural Development Policy;
  • Digital Technologies, Innovation, Green Development; and
  • Other interdisciplinary fields related to agriculture and sustainable development.

The acceptance and publication of manuscripts shall be consistent with the Journal's mission, objectives, disciplinary scope, and operating license.

4. Development Vision

The Journal strives to become one of Vietnam's leading scholarly journals in agricultural sciences, recognized for its academic excellence and international reputation. It is committed to promoting and disseminating high-quality scientific knowledge in agriculture, enhancing the global visibility of Vietnamese agricultural research, and strengthening the academic competitiveness and international standing of the Vietnam National University of Agriculture in the era of global integration.

5. Principles of Operation

The Journal shall operate in accordance with the principles of honesty, objectivity, transparency, accountability, fairness, and academic independence, while upholding the highest standards of research integrity and publication ethics.

All editorial, peer-review, and publication activities shall comply with the laws and regulations of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and be conducted in accordance with internationally recognized standards for scholarly publishing, including the principles and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and other relevant international organizations.

The Journal is committed to maintaining an equitable balance among the legitimate interests of authors, reviewers, readers, the Vietnam National University of Agriculture, and the broader scientific community, while fostering scientific excellence, innovation, openness, and public trust in scholarly communication.
