The convergence of Buddhist and Marxist–Leninist aesthetics and its implications for contemporary aesthetic value orientation
Keywords
Abstract
Buddhism was introduced into Vietnam in the early centuries CE, was rapidly localized, and became the country’s most influential religion, accompanying the nation throughout its historical development. Buddhism’s contributions to the nation have been recognized in both theory and practice. Approaching Buddhism from an aesthetic perspective, this article focuses on identifying the convergence between the aesthetic values of Buddhism and Marxist-Leninist aesthetics, thereby proposing policy recommendations for aesthetic value orientation among the younger generation in contemporary Vietnam.
