VIEWS OF KING GIA LONG AND MINH MENH ON CONSTRUCTING AND MANAGING COURT'S MANDARINS

In the history of Vietnamese feudalism, every dynasty always wanted to build a strong state to maintain its long-term domination. To achieve that goal, the heads of the dynasties focused on building and managing a contingent of mandarins who are loyal and capable of governing the State and helping humanity to help the Court rule the country and people. The article presents the views of the first two Kings of the Nguyen Dynasty, Gia Long and Minh Menh, on building and managing the Court’s mandarins, thanks to which the Nguyen Dynasty built and effectively operated the feudal state apparatus with the centralized power in the condition of the unity of the whole country. That view has many progressive aspects worth referring to in the field of construction, training and management of mandarins in our country today.
