BARRIERS TO THE ADOPTION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY AT PORTS IN HAI PHONG AREA

Abstract

Applying renewable energy to build Green Ports associated with sustainable development is one of the key goals of Vietnam, not only improving economic efficiency but also solving the problem of environmental protection. The purpose of this study is to use the Delphi method to investigate the factors hindering the deployment of renewable energy by port enterprises. The study interviewed twelve experts in the maritime sector through two rounds of assessment. The results show that there are 6 main barriers for enterprises in the process of applying renewable energy to seaports. From there, it provides useful information for proposing practical solutions to realize the deployment of renewable energy in the Green Port.
