Legal translation is an interdisciplinary field that has increasingly attracted the interest of both domestic and international scholars. This article employs thematic analysis as a methodological approach to collect data based on keywords relevant to legal translation. More than 100 selected studies were subsequently categorized into thematic groups. The findings reveal four major research trends in the field: (1) theoretical approaches to legal translation, (2) challenges in legal translation, (3) the application of computer science in legal translation, and (4) legal translation in judicial and legislative contexts. The article still presents several limitations, such as the predominance of English-language sources, a certain degree of subjectivity in thematic analysis, and restrictions concerning the number of references. Nevertheless, based on this thematic overview and analysis, the article proposes several potential research directions for future investigations into legal translation.
Tuan Ly PhanMy Duyen LeLan Anh Dam

https://www.vjol.info.vn/index.php/upt/article/view/131626

Adventure tourism in Vietnam is developing rapidly but the regulatory framework still has many gaps, so this study focuses on analyzing the current regulatory system and proposing solutions to improve it to ensure the safety of tourists as well as promote sustainable development. Based on the qualitative method, analyzing legal documents combined with comparison with international experience, the results indicate that current Vietnamese law only stops at the enumeration approach, lacks specific technical standards and has not established a risk management mechanism as well as clear responsibilities. The new point clarified in the article is to identify the systemic nature of these shortcomings, at the same time suggesting the possibility of building legal standards based on risk level classification. From there, it can be seen that improving the legal corridor not only protects the safety of tourists but also creates a foundation to enhance the competitiveness of Vietnam's tourism industry.
Kim Long NguyenQuoc Dat TranThi Kim Quyen Nguyen

https://www.vjol.info.vn/index.php/upt/article/view/131632

This study investigates linguistic strategies for expressing simple negative sentences in English and Vietnamese, aiming to identify structural similarities and differences and the common errors made by Vietnamese EFL learners. Mixed–method was used in the form of corpus analysis, 30 high–school student questionnaires, and semi–structured interviews (n=6). The qualitative insights were used to understand the perception and challenges of learners whereby quantitative data were obtained through descriptive statistics, correlation, and t–tests. The results show that Vietnamese students tend to take over the L1 patterns and apply them to English, leaving out or inappropriately applying auxiliaries (do/does/did), changing position of not, and mixing different forms of no, not and none. There was a gap between understanding and proper use as recognition tasks were not as difficult as production. As both quantitative and qualitative findings indicate, the primary sources of difficulty are cross–linguistic interference and structural complexity. Pedagogically, the paper highlights the necessity of explicit contrastive teaching in order to decrease transfer error and acquire higher accuracy in the negation of English.
Thi Ngoc Vy Nguyen
