Abstract

WISE (Web-based Inquiry Science Environment) is a promising website with many remarkable and practical features that substantially aid in the process of developing courses to assist students enhance their scientific thinking capacity. Previously, information concerning damped oscillations, forced oscillations, and resonance phenomena was frequently employed in a teacher-centered education manner, with pupils passively absorbing the knowledge. As a result, students are easily confused, have difficulties processing information, and have limited abilities to use in real life. Furthermore, the approach to information in the 2018 general education program implements the active learning method, and follows the motto "learning through doing". Therefore, the topic "Tuned mass damper" can be approved as a way of utilizing STEM teaching technique. The new approach to the issue "Oscillations" is completely consistent. As a result, we performed this research using theoretical research methodologies, program documentation, and an analysis of the needs to be satisfied in order to construct lesson plans and design acceptable models. and evaluate the feasibility and applicability of the WISE website in developing STEM courses about damped pendulums. According to the research findings, WISE is a website suited for teaching and fostering scientific thinking in students, and the "Dampened Pendulum" model set is useful for meeting the criteria of the topic "Oscillations."
