EXAMINATION OF STUDENT'S CAPACITY IN TEACHING NATURAL SCIENCE UNDER STEM EDUCATION ORIENTATION

Abstract

Natural science is a subject built on the foundation of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, with a combination of theory, experiment and practice. Therefore, applying the STEM education model to teaching Natural Sciences will contribute to promoting the development of practical application of learned knowledge. However, to get accurate and objective learning results, testing and evaluating throughout the subject is a big difficulty. Through a survey of 30 teachers and 80 students in secondary schools in Hue city, it shows the importance of testing and assessing students’ capacity in teaching Natural Sciences according to STEM education orientation. From there, the article proposes a number of measures and procedures for testing and assessing capacity appropriate to the current context, creating a positive impact on the development of students' capacity in teaching Natural Science under STEM education orientation.
