RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HELICOBACTER PYLORI INFECTION AND STOMACH DUODENAL INJURY ON SAMPLE BIOPSIES AT HOSPITAL OF THAI NGUYEN UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY 2022
Abstract
Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) infection is associated with ulcerative lesions and gastric and duodenal cancer. The study aims to determine the prevalence of H.pylori infection on biopsies through gastroduodenal endoscopy and to find out the relationship between H.pylori infection status and some features of gastroduodenal lesions. The descriptive cross-sectional study was used based on 153 cases of examination and endoscopy with histopathological results of biopsies. The result shows that female accounted for 59%. Mean age is 50.7±3.3. H.pylori infection rate accounted for 34%. H.pylori infection was associated with gastritis lesions, atrophic inflammation, active inflammation and intestinal metaplasia with p<0.05 and not associated with dysplastic lesions with p>0.05. According to the study, it is possible to determine the status of H.pylori infection and evaluate the histopathological lesions of the gastrointestinal mucosa on endoscopic biopsies.
