CONSUMPTION LINKS OF CINNAMON PRODUCTS IN THAI NGUYEN PROVINCE

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the consumption links of cinnamon products in Thai Nguyen province. Survey results from 160 cinnamon-growing households and cinnamon-collecting and processing enterprises and consumers in Thai Nguyen province have shown that cinnamon production was gradually developing and contributed to creating jobs and raising incomes for people. Descriptive and comparative statistical methods are mainly used in research to analyze data. The interaction among participants in the chain of consuming cinnamon products was still loose; Thai Nguyen province's cinnamon tree had not yet created a brand name in the market. 46.3% cinnamon products were exported to foreign markets; the remaining 53.7% of cinnamon products were consumed domestically. The study has recommended a number of key solutions for promoting science and technology propaganda and training, promoting linkages, forming cooperative groups for collection and processing, positioning markets and products, building brand for the product, in order to promote the chain of consumption of cinnamon products in Thai Nguyen province.
