Abstract

Dao Vien commune is located in the border area of Lang Son province which has many rugged mountains and rivers, brave and filial people since ancient times. Dao Vien commune has a strategic military position. From 1946 to 1950, the people and the armed forces of Dao Vien commune made a lot of important victories, contributing to liberating a large border area. Through the use of documentary research methods and field research methods, the article clarifies the contributions of inhabitant in Dao Vien commune, Trang Dinh district, Lang Son province in the resistance war against the French colonialists from 1946 to 1950. Dao Vien was not only an important revolutionary base, but also a transit station for weapons and ammunition from China to Trang Dinh. Through studying the contributions of the army and people of Dao Vien commune, the article contributes to summarize the revolutionary struggle tradition of the locality in particular and of Lang Son province in general.
