Abstract

Work-life balance is important for employees, especially in the context of increasing work pressure. The study aimed to determine the relationship between work-life balance and positive emotions and employee engagement. Cronbach's Alpha Analysis, Exploratory Factor Analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling were used for data analysis. The survey results of 206 hotel employees in Da Nang city, Vietnam showed that all three aspects of work-life balance (time balance, involvement balance, satisfaction balance) had an impact on employees' positive emotions and employee engagement with the hotel. In particular, the time balance had the greatest impact, followed by the involvement balance and the satisfaction balance. In addition, the research results demonstrated the mediating role of positive emotions in the relationship between work-life balance and engagement. When employees have a balance between work and life, they will have more positive emotions and be more engaged to the hotel.
