Abstract

Rabindranath Tagore (1861 - 1941) is a pre-eminent phenomenon of Indian literature in the 20th century. The Nobel Prize in Literature for “Gitanjali” (in 1913) confirmed Tagore's talent as a great poet not only in India but also in the world. Lyrical and love poems are the most special part in Tagore's work, in which the Indian principle of love was connected and developed through the miraculous creative powers of this Bengali poet. Tagore's poetic career has been considered and evaluated by Indian researchers, scholars and poets around the world from many perspectives, in terms of the value of ideological content, religious inspiration, and prosody. Using interdisciplinary research method combined with statistical manipulation, analysis and proof, this writing shows out the Indian traditional factors as well as modern factors in Tagore's poems. From this, it helps the readers explore the Indian's love that Tagore always venerated as scared humanity to encourage people's souls and to make people live more beautifully and meaningfully.
