FACTORS RELATED MOTHER’S KNOWLEDGE ON ESENTIAL NEWBORN CARE, NEONATAL DANGER SIGNS AT THAI NGUYEN NATIONAL HOSPITAL, 2019

Abstract

A cross-sectional study was conducted on 97 mothers who have neonatal at Thai Nguyen national hospital, 2019 in oder to describe the knowledge of mothers about Essential Newborn Care and neonatal danger signs and determine factors relate the knowledge of mothers. The result showed that 62.9% of mothers had good knowledge on Essential Newborn Care. About neonatal danger signs, Out of the total respondents 55 (56.7%) mentioned higt fever, 54 (55.7%) mentioned poor sucking or not able to breastfeeding. Knowledge about essentialnewborn care were significantly associated with mother’s age, educational status, place of residence and number of children at p-value <0.01.
