SELF-CARE KNOWLEDGE OF THE LOST CONTROL DIABETES PATIENTS OUTPATIENT TREATMENT IN THAI NGUYEN CENTER HOSPITAL 2019

Abstract

This paper describes the status of self-care knowledge of people with the lost control type 2 diabetes outpatient treatment at Thai Nguyen Central Hospital in 2019. A cross-sectional description was performed on 105 people with diabetes who were difficult to control from September 1, 2019 to September 30, 2019. The research results show that the proportion of patients with self-care knowledge is low (30.5%), lower than proportion of patients with not good knowledge of self-care (69.5%). Only 20% know the relationship between blood glucose monitoring frequency and physical activity. Knowledge of the diet is limited, the percentage of patients who know that they should have a snack before going to bed is low (19%); Only 47.6% know about neurological complications that do not just appear on the feet. The self-care knowledge of type 2 diabetics on outpatient at Thai Nguyen Central Hospital in 2019 is still limited: Self-care knowledge is at 30.5%. The average score of knowledge is 15.72 ± 5.73; the lowest is 4 points and the highest is 26 points out of a total of 30 points.
