MGIT TEST RESULTS OF AFB (-) PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS PATIENT AT THAI NGUYEN HOSPITAL OF TUBERCULOSIS AND LUNG DISEASE

Abstract

Currently, many advanced techniques have been applied to diagnose early and accurately for patients with AFB (-) pulmonary tuberculosis. These techniques are more sensitive and specific than the classical method of screening and culture. Especially culture technique on MGIT liquid medium. This study uses cross-sectional descriptive method to describe the results of MGIT liquid culture of 105 patient samples from 105 patients diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis AFB (-) in Tuberculosis Hospital and Thai Nguyen Lung Disease from January to September 2019. Research results show that AFB (-) pulmonary tuberculosis patients are mainly men, accounting for 69.5%, patients under the age of 60 account for 67.6%, middle age average of patients was 51.3 ± 16.6 years, patients with a history of tuberculosis accounted for 8.6%; The positive MGIT rate accounts for 45.7%, of which the MTB (+) ratio accounts for 35.2% and the NTM (+) rate accounts for 10.5%, the average time for a positive result is 11.4%. ± 4.3 days.
