THE HISTOPATHOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION OF CERVICAL CARCINOMA AT NATIONAL HOSPITAL OF OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY

Abstract

Study to determining the rate of cervical carcinoma’s histopathological types at the National hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology according to the classification of the World Health Organization in 2014. The cross-sectional method was performed with 200 patients of cevical invasive carcinomas histopathologically diagnosed at National hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology from January 2017 to December 2018. The results show most case diagnosed as invasive cervical cancer was at the 40-49 age group (32.5%). Squamous cell carcinoma was the most common at 60.5%, adenocarcinoma, adenosquamous carcinoma, undifferentiated carcinoma and small cell carcinoma accounted for 29.5%; 8%; 1% and 1%. Conclusions: Invasive cervical cancer was popularly diagnosed at the 40-49 age group. Squamous cell carcinoma had high rate in which non-keratinizing carcinoma was the most popular.
