Predict shrinkage of early-age concrete based on internal temperature and humidity

Abstract

This paper presents a model to predict shrinkage of concrete at an early age. This model is based on the theory of capillary tension generated in capillary pores in concrete, using moisture and temperature inside the concrete as key parameters. The predicted results for the development of shrinkage strain were compared with the experimental results and showed good agreement.
