Abstract

The paper presents the influence of input parameters such as cement content, initial temperature of the concrete mixture on the temperature distribution in the body of a large concrete structure during the heat of hydration phase. The cement content and initial temperature of concrete mix used in the study are limited within (280 - 450)kg/m3 and (15 - 30)0C, in respect. Thermic analysis was performed using the Finas Element method based on Midas Civil software. Then, the experimental planning method is used to establish mathematical functions that allow the determination of the maximum temperature and maximum temperature difference in the body of the concrete structure. Research shows that the cement content plays a decisive role compared to the initial temperature of the concrete in determining the maximum temperature and maximum temperature difference. In addition, the obtained mathematical functions have reflected the influence and correlation of the mentioned parameters on temperature changes and temperature differences of large concrete structures.

Keywords: The cement content; initial temperature; mass concrete; heat of hydration; finite element; maximal temperature; maximum temperature difference; mathematical function model.
