Abstract

The joints play very important role in reinforced concrete frame structure. Today, the reinforced concrete exterior joints applied in special important buildings and defense buildings which should not allow damage under horizontal loads are particularly concerned. The study of stress-strain state of these joints designed to Eurocode 8 with high ductility class (DCH) has significant meaning in evaluation of joint behavior. However, the experimental test of the joint is relatively difficult because of the high costs and construction time. Therefore, studying the behavior of the joints by the finite element analysis based on simulation software is a modern research trend that is being widely used and developed in recent years. The analysis results will be verified with experimental results of previous research through factors such as force-displacement relationship, failure shapes and the development of reinforcement deformation composition. In addition, the investigation of the influence of parameters such as axial force, compressive strength of concrete and Ratio of transverse reinforcement on the behavior of exterior joints designed according to high ductiltity class (DCH) has also been considered.
