Abstract
Performance-Based Seismic Design (PBSD) is a design method that considers the structures outside the elastic region when subjected to earthquakes. This method is being developed and applied in developed countries. Meanwhile, behavior coefficient q is used in TCVN 9386 -2012 to evaluate the inelastic behavior of structures, this method has some limitations such as not being able to evaluate the "nonlinear - yielding" process of the results. In this study, Capacity Spectrum Method is introduced and applied to evaluate the performance level of a reinforced concrete frame. This is a useful tool for engineers to design buildings based on PBSD.
