An analysis of factors affecting labour retention in An Giang construction firms

Abstract

Human resources play a crucial role in the construction industry in Vietnam, significantly impacting the success and growth of construction projects. However, construction companies face a challenge in managing their human resources, particularly in retaining employees. The departure of employees after a certain period of time poses numerous difficulties for these companies. This study focuses on examining the factors that contribute to employee retention in construction companies located in An Giang, Vietnam. A total of 180 survey questionnaires were collected, and these questionnaires categorized 15 factors determining employee retention into three groups. The fuzzy synthesis evaluation method (FSE) was employed to assess the significance of these groups. The analysis findings reveal that the group labeled "Company factors" holds the greatest influence on individuals' decision to continue working at a construction company in An Giang.
