Identify the factors causing construction cost overrun of high rise building projects occurring at contractor in Vietnam

Abstract

Nowadays, the number and level of competition among construction contractors in Vietnam is increasing, especially in the segment of high-rise projects. Therefore, companies must constantly change and improve management efficiency in projects to optimize construction costs and profits achieved for each package. The study was conducted with 137 surveys, of which 122 met the requirements and combined with the opinions of more than 10 experts with 11-25 years of experience in the field of high-rise building construction at contractors pointed out that the 24 factors that cause the most cost overruns. By analyzing and combining with expert opinions, the research has ranked the impact analysis and proposed solutions for the 10 most influential factors.
