Abstract

Soil-cement column (SCC) becomes more popular and widely used for ground treatment, especially in the Mekong Delta. The uniaxial compression tests in the laboratory are used to evaluate the compression strength of soil-cement columns in this study. The results show that the amount of cement/soil mixture at least 300 kg/m3 is considered consistently with the soft soils in the studied area. In addition, the ratio of the uniaxial compression strength of soil-cement columns made between in the field and the laboratory is in the range (0.32 ÷ 0.96). This proves that the SCC method (Jet-grouting) gives a higher compression strength compared to the recommendation in the current Vietnamese national standards.
