Abstract

Climate change has led to the occurrence of floods in numerous locations, often with serious effects, resultingin significant damage to homes and impacting people's lives. Consequently, numerous designs for flood-resistanthomes have been developed, and various house models have been successfully implemented in flood-proneregions. In our country, there are numerous models of flood-proof houses, categorized into three main types: houses on foundations, floating houses, and houses with mezzanines. The existing house models are designedto reduce the effects of flooding. This study proposes the use of ferrocement material in the design of floatinghouses characterized by simple shapes, lightweight construction, and multifunctionality. These structures servenot only as floating homes during flood seasons but can also function as tanks in dry periods or as shelters forpeople and livestock during storms. The research results serve as a foundation for recommending calculationmethods for the design of ferrocement floating structures according to ACI standards.
