ABSTRCT
In the trend of integration and globalization, learning foreign languages really becomes mandatory for
students. The comprehensive renovation of foreign language teaching and learning in the national education
system is of great interest to the Party and State. The Ministry of Education and Training has implemented
a new foreign language teaching and learning program under the Project “Teaching and learning foreign
languages in the national education system for the period 2008-2020”. The overall goal of the project is
for university training. students who have “...capable of using foreign languages independently, confident
in communicating, studying and working in an integrated, multilingual, multicultural environment; turning
foreign languages into a world strength of the Vietnamese people, serving the cause of industrialization
and modernization of the country.” To meet that requirement, students must have full skills of listening,
speaking, reading and writing. Listening comprehension skills are especially important.The article presents
some measures to practice English listening comprehension skills for students at Hanoi University of Natural
Resources and Environment.
