India - Russia relations: 75 years of cooperation and development

Abstract

India and Russia, two vast countries in the world, share a long-standing historical relationship. These relations have gone through 75 years of cooperation and development. The year 2022 marked the 75th anniversary of India - Russia relations. With the goal of highlighting the periods and areas in India - Russia relations, the paper titled “India - Russia: 75 years of cooperation and development” focused on (i) an overview of India - Soviet Union relation during the Cold War; (ii) several areas in India-Russia relations in the post-Cold War period, including defense, economic, and cultural cooperation. The paper showed that India - Russia relations always maintained their close cooperation in all aspects. This not only offered India and Russia significant benefits but also helped maintain a strategic balance in Asia.
