“The silence of the digital lambs” and the crisis of Western democracy

Abstract

In the digital age, the global information ecosystem is dominated by a few monopolistic digital platforms that control the flow of information and public discourse. Through algorithms and data mining, these platforms shape content, deeply interfering with public perception and behavior. While Western democracy is in crisis, Vietnam is proactively building a modern socialist democracy model, with technology controlled for the benefit of the people. This article won the A prize in the fifth political essay competition on protecting the Party's ideological foundation, 2025.
