Improving the mechanism for ensuring the direct mastership of the People in planning processes in Vietnam

Abstract

Planning processes not only determine national and local socio-economic development but also deeply influence people's lives. Therefore, improving the mechanism for ensuring the People’s direct mastership in planning processes is essential, as it contributes to the promotion of the nature of the socialist rule of law State of the People, by the People, for the People; enhances the quality of planning processes; promotes social consensus; and prevents corruption in planning processes. Within the scope of this article, the author analyses the current mechanism for ensuring the People’s direct mastership in the planning processes. From there, the author proposes some recommendations for improving the legal provisions and measures for ensuring the People’s direct mastership in planning processes in Vietnam.
