Regulations of International law on the control of plastic waste in the sea from the ships
Abstract
Plastic waste is one of the biggest threats today to the environment in general and the marine environment in particular. Marine plastic waste may arise from various sources, including the operation of ships. Plastics are used for a variety of marine purposes including, but not limited to, packaging, ship construction, disposable eating utensils bags; sheeting; floats; fishing nets; fishing lines; strapping bands; wire rope with synthetic fibre sheaths; combination wire rope; rope; line; sails; and many other manufactured plastic items. The content of the article aims to analyze the relevant provisions of international law on the control of plastic waste at sea from the operation of ships, thereby making an assessment of the current international legal framework that regulates this issue.
