Crime of infringing on human life according to Vietnamese Penal Code 2015 - Some inadequacies and directions for improvement

Abstract

The right to life is one of the most natural, basic and important human rights. To protect people's right to life, the Vietnamese Penal Code stipulates crimes of infringing upon human life. The article analyzes the changes in provisions on crimes of infringing on human life in the 2015 Penal Code compared with the 1999 Penal Code. The article also points out some inadequacies and limitations in the current provisions and gives suggestions to improve the provisions on crimes infringing on human life.
