Collecting and submitting evidence by defence counsels in criminal proceedings

Abstract
Collecting and submitting evidence by defence counsels are new provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code 2015 which aimat ensuring the effective argumentation of defence counsels. This paper analyses and evaluates provisions of Vietnamese criminal procedure law governing two issues including the collection and delivery of evidence, documents and objects related to the defence and practical implementation. Based upon this, combining with the reference to international law and some other countries’ laws, the author offers orientation for reforming provisions of Vietnamese criminal procedure law regarding these two issues.
