25 years of ASEAN integration: On the road reaching to “cohesion and proactive adaptation”

Abstract

In 2020, Vietnam has been in charge of of Chair of ASEAN, at the same time, Vietnam has also marked 25-year journey with ASEAN as a companion. Since joining ASEAN in 1995,, Vietnam has contributed to the development and growth of ASEAN. The article first outlines Vietnam's processes of joining ASEAN and its significance for both Vietnam and the Association. In addition, the article analyzes Vietnam's contributions to ASEAN from two main aspects, including: Building cooperation initiatives and enforcing ASEAN cooperation.
