Right to social security in securing income of employees through social insurance in Vietnam

Abstract

Securing income of employees through social insurance is one of the important issues of the right to social security of employees. This is because social insurance, in its nature, is to ensure income of employees when/or if they face risks and difficulties in working  and even in the case they no longer participate in labour relations. Thus, widenning the coverage of social insurance to every employee is of importance and necessity. The paper focuses on the law of Vietnam on securing income of employees through social insurance. It assesses the current situation of the coverage of social insurance and offers some recommendations to widen the coverage of social insurance and to avoid escaping the net of social security.
