Guaranteeing the rights of disadvantaged workers in Vietnam at present

Abstract

The paper analyses the concept, characteristics and significance of protection of the rights ofdisadvantaged workersin Vietnam at present. It points out the causes of increased risks to disadvantaged workers and analyses the current situation of the law on protection of the rights of disadvantaged workers in Vietnam. Based on that the paper proposes some solutions to guarantee the rights of disadvantaged workers in current context of Vietnam, which include: amending and supplementing legal provisions on collective bargaining and collective bargaining agreements, settlement of labour disputes and strikes, and trade union rights;and taking measures to promote the implementation of fundamental principles and rights at work and the observance of labour law in small and medium enterprises as well as measures to strengthen the protection of the rights of workers  in the informal economic sector.
