Fundamental values of the organisation and operation of the Nguyen dynasty’s state machinery in the period of 1802 - 1884

Abstract

Having gone through over 80 years of existence and development, the organisation and operation of the Nguyen dynasty’s state machinery in the period of 1802-1884 has brought significant values regarding: assigning powers among central state organs and between central and local governments; coordinating the King and the Court, the central and local state organs and the colleagues within an insitution; controlling state powers; and etc. While some of these values are merly historical, the others remain current that should be consulted during the course of reforming and improving the state machinery of our country at present.
