TEACHING PRACTICE OF SELECTING FILM MUSIC FOR STUDENTS OF FACULTY OF CINEMATIC ARTS AT HANOI ACADEMY OF THEATER AND CINEMA
Abstract
In
the
realm
of
cinematography,
the
element
of
music
plays
an
immensely
pivotal
role
in
synergizing
with
visual
imagery
to
vividly
express
artistic
motifs.
However,
research
pertaining
to
the
pedagogical
aspects
of
selecting
film
music
has
not
yet
been
accorded
substantial
emphasis
in
our
country.
As
of
the
current
moment,
we
observe
a
dearth
of
extensive
and
profound
research
on
this
subject.
Nationally,
the
sole
institution
providing
education
in
Film
Music
to
cinema
students
is
the
Hanoi
Academy
of
Theatre
and
Cinema.
Meanwhile,
music
as
a
discipline
is
complex
and
abstract,
making
the
guidance
in
selecting
and
utilizing
music
for
students
pursuing
professional
music
studies
even
more
intricate
and
esoteric.
Empirical
research
into
the
status
of
teaching
Film
Music
at
the
Faculty
of
Cinema
Arts
at
the
Hanoi
Academy
of
Theatre
and
Cinema
reveals
that
alongside
methodologies
focusing
on
learner
competence,
there
is
a
need
to
intensify
activities
in
music
appreciation
and
practical
learning
for
students,
accompanied
by
rational
professional
learning
projects.
This
forms
the
foundation
for
enhancing
the
quality
of
tasks
involved
in
selecting
or
establishing
a
musical
language
for
films.
