THE CURRENT SITUATION OF EDUCATION AT NEW RURAL DEVELOPMENT COMMUNES IN HO CHI MINH CITY

Abstract

In the process of new rural development during the past 10 years in Ho Chi Minh City, education has always been the focus of attention from the Party Committee and City Government. In particular, the investment in education to prepare human resources for hightech agriculture is the top priority task. Children at all levels in 56 communes of Ho Chi Minh City go to school at the right age, there is no re-illiteracy situation, and high quality rural vocational education has been
focused as a result of such investment. At the same time, skills of farmers have constantly been improved, technology has been transfered along with restructured of crops and animals, enhanced the quality of rural human resources. Thereby, the implementation of the new rural development program has transformed education in both quantity and quality, contributing to raise the standard of living, civilized lifestyle to high level.
