Current Status of Agricultural Production and Emerging Issues in the Vietnam - Laos Border Area of Quang Nam Province

Abstract

The Vietnam - Laos border area in Quang Nam province is home to many
ethnic minorities whose main livelihood activity is agricultural production. In the current
context, border agriculture is facing many challenges, requiring innovation and clear direction
to become the main resource for people to escape poverty and create economic value,
promoting the development of other industries. Based on the results of field research in 2023 -
2024 in the two border districts of Tay Giang and Nam Giang, Quang Nam province, the article
focuses on analyzing the current status of agricultural production activities of people in relation
to policies and resources in the border area, and at the same time, giving some
recommendations to promote advantages and overcome existing limitations for agricultural
production in the Vietnam - Laos border area.
