Abstract

In the past, the Chut people in our country had traditional costumes made
from tree bark. In the past few decades, their costumes have been a process of learning and
interacting with neighboring ethnic groups, and more recently, the common costume has
become popular in all local groups. Along with the development of socio-economic life, the
awareness of affirming ethnic cultural identity as well as the need and desire to have a set of
woven costumes with unique nuances and characteristics of this ethnic group are increasingly
evident; from there, the task of researching the current situation, needs and shaping of
costumes of ethnic groups that do not have typical woven costumes in general, and of the
Chut people in particular, is set. This article discusses the urgency, scientific basis as well as
the approach when implementing the above task, with the desire to contribute to clarifying the
theoretical and practical issues of the research topic.
