Some Limitations in Implementing Poverty Reduction and Economic Development Policies in the Vietnam Laos Border Area (Case Study in Quang Nam Province)

Abstract

Based on field data collected in the Tay Giang and Nam Giang districts of
Quang Nam province during 2023-2024, the article presents the limitations in implementing
poverty reduction and economic development policies for ethnic groups in the border area of
Quang Nam province specifically, and the Vietnam - Laos border area more generally. It
analyses the causes of these limitations and makes recommendations to improve the
effectiveness of policy implementation in the locality. The article covers the following
contents: an introduction to the research area, limitations in the policy implementation
process, causes, and some recommendations.
