Cross-border marriages of ethnic minority groups living in the Vietnam – China border regions through the lens of foreign researchers

Abstract

Cross-border marriages are marriages between individuals in different countries sharing a border, emphasizing their migration to the other side of the border through marriage. This article raises some issues that foreign authors are interested in studying cross-border marriage of ethnic minorities in the Vietnam-China border area from theoretical analysis, approach to two basic contents are cross-border marriage with economic and socio-cultural aspects. Thereby shows the objective outlook, respect for the research subject, the richness in the problem approach of foreign researchers. However, research on cross-border marriage in ethnic minority areas in Vietnam still needs more detail from many angles to adequately explain both research theory and practice that has been and is happening.
